Learn Optimism
In Authentic Happiness, Dr. Martin Seligman describes the process to: learn optimism, produce conscious thought, and make money (or achieve nearly any desired state). Seligman, acknowledged in a February 2008 issue of Scientific American MIND as "perhaps America's most influential academic psychologist," is the Fox Leadership Professor of Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania. He writes:
“Careful research from the University of Minnesota shows that there is a personality trait of good cheer (called positive affectivity), which it turns out is highly heritable . . . some people have a lot of positive affect and this stays quite fixed over a lifetime. High positive-affect people feel great a lot of the time; good things bring them pleasure and joy in abundance. Just as many people, however, have very little of it. They don’t feel great, or even good, most of the time . . . Most of the rest of us lie somewhere in between.”
“Positive emotion is important, not just because it is pleasant in its own right, but because it causes much better commerce with the world. Developing more positive emotion in our lives will build friendship, love, better physical health, and greater achievement.” Note the linkages: learning the biology of optimism, leads to greater ability to produce conscious/positive thought, which in turn leads to greater commerce and achievement, including money making.
“There is a well-documented method for building (positive thought and) optimism (called learned optimism) that consists of recognizing and then disputing pessimistic thoughts . . . the key to disputing your own pessimistic thoughts is to first recognize them and then to treat them as if they were uttered by an external person, a rival whose mission in life is to make you miserable . . . by effectively disputing the beliefs that follow an adversity (or that accompany a challenge), you can change your reaction from dejection and giving up, to activity and good cheer.”
Learn from the biology of optimism, dispute negative belief and thought, consciously practice positive affirming thought, and the probablity is much greater that you will achieve your desires and goals, including making money. Again, here's the pattern to program into your mind -- learn optimism, produce conscious thought, make money.
